Trout meets Griffey to tape FOX Sports 1 show

OAKLAND -- Mike Trout finally met one of the men he most closely resembles on Tuesday -- Ken Griffey Jr.

Griffey is one of few center fielders throughout history who can match Trout's combination of power, speed, on-base ability, defense and, well, popularity. And prior to Tuesday's game, the two sat down for about a half hour at one of the family rooms at Coliseum, reviewing Trout's game film for an episode of "Big Sticks with Ken Griffey Jr." on FOX Sports 1, which will air at some point during the American League Division Series.

"It's cool," said Trout, who earlier this year became the first Major League player since Griffey to get his own shoe from Nike. "Growing up watching him on TV, playing all his video games, it's pretty cool, just sitting down and talking to him.

"We just went over some swings, went over some at-bats. I thought it was pretty cool just sitting down and talking to him."
