Haniger has second straight two-homer game

Outfielder Mitch Haniger hit two home runs in Double-A Huntsville's 3-2 victory in 11 innings against Chattanooga on Wednesday, giving him back-to-back two-homer games.

Haniger, the Brewers' No. 5 prospect, finished the night 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. He also hit two home runs Tuesday in Huntsville's 7-6 victory.

Wednesday's game was delayed by 91 minutes during the eighth inning by rain. The game was tied at 2 when the delay began and stayed that way until the bottom of the 11th inning when outfielder Kentrail Davis hit a two-out double to drive in Adam Weisenburger and end the game.

Haniger has hit 10 home runs this season, but his power has come in bursts. He homered in three straight games in April and now has three two-homer games in the span of eight days.

Overall, Haniger is hitting .266/.329/.432 with 39 runs and 33 RBIs in 63 games. He is tied for fifth in the Southern League in home runs and ranks fourth in runs.
