Minute Maid Park to host JJ Watt Charity Classic

Minute Maid Park will play host to one of Houston's biggest sports stars this spring as the JJ Watt Charity Classic takes up residence in the Astros' ballpark.

The fourth annual charity event will take place on May 14 and feature a home run derby and softball game between offensive and defensive players from Watts' team, the Houston Texans. All proceeds will benefit the JJ Watt Foundation, which has raised more than $1,365,000 since the event began in 2013.

Fans in attendance can also take part in a raffle, purchase JJ Watt merchandise and participate in a silent auction, and a fireworks display is scheduled to end the night.

Watt, 26, has been among football's biggest defensive stars since breaking out with 20.5 sacks in his sophomore campaign in 2012. The Texans' defensive end is a three-time Pro Bowl selection and a two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year recipient.

Tickets for the event will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. CT, and are available at tickets.com or the Minute Maid Park box office.
