Moreland remains in holding pattern

SEATTLE -- Rangers first baseman Mitch Moreland has his second opinion. Now he is trying to decide what to do next.

Moreland, who is on the disabled list with an injured left ankle, was examined by Dr. Robert Anderson on Thursday in North Carolina and the Rangers said there has been no change in his status. Moreland is expected to meet with Dr. Keith Meister in Arlington this weekend to see what is his next step.

Moreland has been diagnosed with Os Trigonum Syndrome, which means he has a bone in his ankle that is causing the pain. Moreland could have the bone removed by surgery and be our three to four weeks or he could have reconstructive ankle surgery, which would likely sideline him for the rest of the season.
