On Friday, he hit off a tee for the first time, also with a fungo bat.
"When I first got my cast off, I could barely move my wrist, and now I was able to hit off the tee today with the fungo," Myers said. "Still has some soreness in it, but I guess that's to be expected right now."
He said the next step after hitting from a tee will be to take coach's batting practice, which will likely happen in four to five days.
"Wil's still a little bit sore, but he's making progress," manager Joe Maddon said.
Myers, who hasn't played since May 30, said he still thinks he is on track for a mid-August return if all goes well.
