Rain postpones Nats-Orioles Interleague tilt

WASHINGTON -- Monday night's scheduled game between the Nationals and Orioles was postponed because of rain. The game will be made up at Nationals Park at 4:05 p.m. ET on Thursday, when both teams were originally slated for an off-day.

So the Nationals and Orioles will open the three-game Interleague series on Tuesday night with left-hander Gio Gonzalez facing Baltimore right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez at 7:05 p.m. ET.

After Gonzalez, the rest of the Nationals' rotation will be decided on Tuesday, according to manager Matt Williams. It will give him a chance to set the rotation for the three-game series against the National League East-leading Mets that starts on Oct. 2. The Nats are 6 1/2 games back in the division with 13 games to play following the Mets' 4-0 win over the Braves on Monday.

"Given the rainout, we can look at some things. We are in the process of doing that. As far as tomorrow goes, it will be Gio," Williams said.

Fans with tickets to Monday night's game can use their original ticket for Thursday's game. Further ticket information can be found at nationals.com/rainout.
