Mets lose challenge after Murphy drops ball

NEW YORK -- Mets manager Terry Collins lost a challenge of what the umpires ruled was a missed-catch error on second baseman Daniel Murphy on Thursday night. After review, the call on the field was confirmed.

With one on and no one out in the top of the sixth inning at Citi Field, Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig sent a grounder to David Wright. Wright threw to Murphy at second base in an attempt to get Chone Figgins on the force out, but Murphy dropped the ball.

The review took 51 seconds. The Mets went on to win the game, 5-3.
