No announcement yet on D-backs' opening starters

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- While the Dodgers have already announced that they will start Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke in their opening series with the D-backs on March 22-23 in Sydney, Australia, the D-backs will wait a while before deciding on their pitchers.

"I think their rotation has probably been a little bit more set the last couple of years," D-backs general manager Kevin Towers said. "I'm sure it won't be long before we come out and announce who it is."

It would seem likely that left-hander Patrick Corbin would start one of the games, but the D-backs will weigh several factors, including which pitchers might be able to recover from the jet lag that could be involved in the trip.

In addition, the D-backs want new pitching coach Mike Harkey to get a firsthand look at his pitchers so that he can have input in the decision.

"In due time we will," Towers said. "But I don't think we're ready yet."
