No word on possible discipline for Suzuki

LOS ANGELES -- Nationals manager Davey Johnson and catcher Kurt Suzuki have not heard from Major League Baseball regarding Suzuki's ejection from Sunday afternoon's game against the Cubs. The mild-mannered Suzuki argued for several seconds with home-plate umpire John Tumpane after Suzuki struck out looking. Suzuki thought the ball was on the outside part of the plate.

"I don't think there will be much to that," Johnson said. "[Tumpane] had a generous strike zone. Frustrations comes out with those."

According to Johnson, Tumpane had a wide strike zone and felt that Suzuki should have been more aggressive at the plate.

In retrospect, Suzuki felt he should have swung at the pitch.

"It was a pretty big spot in the game. It wasn't just a call to put you in the hole. It was a cause to get you out. That's what made me a little bit angry," Suzuki said Monday. "It is what it is. You have to move on, forget about it. I haven't really thought about it. I'm getting ready to play today."
