Orioles Acquire OF Junior Lake from the Chicago Cubs in Exchange for RHP Tommy Hunter

The Orioles today announced that they have acquired OF JUNIOR LAKE from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for RHP TOMMY HUNTER and optioned him to Triple-A Norfolk. Additionally, the Orioles have recalled RHP MIKE WRIGHT from Triple-A Norfolk.

Lake, 25, batted .315/.404/.472 (62-197) with seven home runs and 31 RBI in 58 games with Triple-A Iowa this season. Over 26 games in July with the Iowa Cubs this season, Lake hit .337 (31-92) with six home runs and 15 RBI. In 193 career Major League games, Lake has hit .241/.283/.380 with 16 home runs and 46 RBI.

Hunter, 29, went 2-2 with a 3.63 ERA (44.2IP, 18ER) in 39 games with the Orioles this season.

Wright, 25, went 8-0 with a 2.41 ERA (71.0IP, 19ER) in 13 games (12 starts) with Triple-A Norfolk. He made his Major League debut on May 17 vs. Los Angeles (AL), tossing 7.1 scoreless innings. In six career Major League games, Wright has gone 2-3 with a 5.16 ERA (29.2IP, 17ER).
