O's challenge nets Ubaldo third out of first inning

BALTIMORE -- Orioles manager Buck Showalter won a challenge in the first inning of the O's game against the Indians on Saturday, enabling starting pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez to get out of the frame cleanly.

Cleveland third baseman Lonnie Chisenhall hit a soft ground ball with two outs to first baseman Chris Davis, who flipped the ball to Jimenez for what appeared to be a putout. But first-base umpire Alan Porter called Chisenhall safe, and Showalter immediately ran out to argue the call and challenge the play.

Forty-one seconds later, the umpires reversed the decision and the inning ended with a 3-1 putout.

The Orioles are now 4-2 this season in challenges going their way.
