O's claim lefty Olmos off waivers from Cubs

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Orioles claimed Edgar Olmos off waivers from the Cubs, who had claimed the left-handed reliever from the Mariners last Friday. With the move, Chicago's 40-man roster is at 38.

Olmos, 25, was 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA in six appearances with the Mariners last season, including two starts. He spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Tacoma, where he was 1-1 with a 3.55 ERA in 20 games, including two starts.

The Marlins' third-round pick in the 2008 Draft, Olmos also made five appearances with the Marlins in 2013.

Olmos was one of three lefties the Cubs added in a short stretch, joining Rex Brothers and Clayton Richard.
