Orioles investing in Sarasota

BALTIMORE -- The Orioles announced on Tuesday, in conjunction with the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, the team's $150,000 investment in the Chamber's "Sarasota Tomorrow Next" initiative.

"Sarasota Tomorrow Next," a regional community and economic development initiative, is intended to build on the "Sarasota Tomorrow" program. The new initiative will focus on enhancing sports tourism and preparing youth for the future, according to David Rovine, vice president of Orioles-Sarasota.

"Since relocating our year-round Florida operation to Sarasota in 2010, we have expanded our efforts to improve this region's economy, create jobs and help families," Rovine said in a release. "The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce has helped us grow roots in Sarasota, and we are pleased to support the 'Sarasota Tomorrow Next' initiative to better the region's business climate and economy."
