Perez, Hagerty, Lane, Dickerson harvesting on Padres' farm

Otay Ranch High product Fernando Perez continued his hitting surge for advanced Class A Lake Elsinore, and catcher Jason Hagerty hit a grand slam homer for Double-A San Antonio in Tuesday night's action in the Padres' farm system.

Meanwhile, left-handed starting pitcher Jason Lane allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk with two strikeouts over seven innings to lead Triple-A El Paso to a 6-3 win at Fresno. Lane, a 38-year-old converted outfielder, improved to 3-2 and lowered his ERA to 4.86 as El Paso won for the fourth time in six games on its present road trip.

Left fielder Alex Dickerson (.353) from Poway High was 3-for-5 with an RBI for the Chihuahuas. Center fielder Abraham Almonte (.303) was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Right fielder Rymer Liriano (.278) was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Third baseman Brett Wallace (.330) was 2-for-5 with a double.

Left-hander Chris Rearick (4.50 ERA) followed Lane and struck out one in a perfect eighth. Right-hander Cory Mazzoni (0.79 ERA) allowed a hit with a strikeout in a scoreless inning to pick up his first save.

Perez, 21, was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs Tuesday to lead the Storm to a 5-4 win at San Jose. He is 10-for-24 in a six-game hitting streak, with two homers and nine RBIs. He has raised his average from .182 to .244 during the streak.

Hagerty's slam came during a game at Frisco that was suspended by rain in the eighth inning with the score tied at 7-7. It will be completed Wednesday night before the regularly scheduled game.

3B Casey McElroy (.310) backed Hagerty, going 2-for-3. RF Tyson Gillies (.323) was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. DH Yeison Asencio (.271) was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Starting RHP Zack Segovia (7.56 ERA) allowed seven runs on eight hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings in his second start for San Antonio. RHP Aaron Northcraft (3.60 ERA) allowed two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 1 2/3 scoreless innings. RHP Casey Kelly (6.75 ERA) allowed a hit and a walk with a strikeout in a scoreless inning.

Advanced Class A Lake Elsinore (13-13): Storm 5, San Jose 4
SS River Stevens (.308) was 4-for-4. CF Auston Bousfield (.297) backed Perez, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Starting RHP Kyle Lloyd (3.48 ERA) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk in five innings. LHP Kyle Bartsch (1-1, 6.57 ERA) allowed three hits with a strikeout in two scoreless innings to get the win. RHP Luis Hernandez (2.57 ERA) pitched a perfect eighth, and RHP Matthew Shepherd (8.76 ERA) struck out one in a perfect ninth to get his first save.

Class A Fort Wayne (8-15): TinCaps 4, Dayton 1
Starting LHP Thomas Dorminy, 22, the Padres' 10th-round pick last June, allowed one run on six hits and no walks with eight strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings to lower his ERA to 4.05. RHP Seth Lucio (1-1, 8.74 ERA) got a ground out from the only hitter he faced to get the win. RHP Bryan Verbitsky (4.50) gave up a walk with two strikeouts in two hitless innings. RHP Colby Blueberg (0.00 ERA) allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth to get his first save. RF Franmil Reyes was 2-for-4 with a home run. LF Nick Torres (.330) was 2-for-4 with an RBI. C Jose Ruiz hit a two-run single.
