Dee has three messages for fans on Presidents' Day

SAN DIEGO -- Padres president and CEO Mike Dee offered three messages to fans of the new-look ballclub on Presidents' Day:

• "Pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training this week, and we couldn't be more excited to get things started. We're proud of the moves A.J. Preller and the baseball-operations staff have made this offseason to overhaul our lineup, while keeping our starting-pitching core intact and also retaining our top prospects. A.J. has brought impact talent like Matt Kemp, Wil Myers, Justin Upton, Derek Norris and James Shields to San Diego, and it's going to be an exciting season.

• "Key additions this offseason extend beyond the playing field. Petco Park's 2015 makeover includes the largest video board in the National League, as well as new seating options and social spaces in left field. The excitement on the field this season will be reflected throughout the ballpark with improvements to our in-game entertainment. Fans can expect the experience of coming to a game to be better than ever.

• "Having hosted Major League Baseball's Winter Meetings in San Diego in December, and with the offseason coming to a close, the eyes of the baseball world have been on America's Finest City. As we look toward the 2015 season -- and with the MLB All-Star Game coming to Petco Park in '16 -- the spotlight will remain on San Diego, and we have a unique opportunity to showcase our city, our ballpark and our fans."
