Jamie Moyer will be the commencement speaker at Immaculata University at its 89th ceremonies on May 19. He will also receive the honorary doctor of laws degree.

Bob Boone, Desi Relaford and Mark Whiten, three Phillies Alumnus, will be among many former players who are participating in the Baseball Hall of Fame Classic in Cooperstown over the Memorial Day weekend.

Pat Gillick was among the guests when the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled its new Diamond Mines exhibit dedicated to the labor of scouts on May 4. Gillick began his career as a baseball scout and farm director before becoming a highly successful general manager.

Longtime Phillies athletic trainer, Jeff Cooper, is a 2013 inductee into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame this month.

"LC" is a graduate of Marysville (WA) High School in 1972 and the Phillies first-round pick that draft (third overall). At age 19, his big league debut came on April 13, 1973, tossing a complete-game five-hitter, 7-1, over the Mets before 7,127 at the Vet. He walked six and struck out three.

Did You Know
LC played high school basketball against Larry Andersen (Interlake HS, Bellevue, WA). "I was a junior and he was a senior. We were in Class AA and LA's school, AAA. They won by two points, but I scored 165 points against LA," LC laughed.
