Phillies Announce 2016 Spring Training Schedule,Tickets & Fan Trips On-Sale Dates
Schedule features the debut of the new Phillies Futures Series
2016 marks the 70th year the Phillies will be in Clearwater, Fla. as they prepare for the upcoming baseball season. The first workout for pitchers and catchers will be on Thursday, February 18, and the first full squad workout will be on Tuesday, February 23.
The Phillies Spring Training schedule includes 17 great matchups at Bright House Field in Clearwater. Spring Training kicks off with an exhibition game against the University of Tampa on Sunday, February 28. The Grapefruit League Home Opener will be against the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, March 1. Other highlights include a three-game homestand against the Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, and Detroit Tigers from March 8 - 10. The annual St. Patrick's Day game will take place against the Tampa Bay Rays on March 17.
The 2016 Spring Training schedule concludes with the debut of the Phillies Futures Series. Fans will have the opportunity to see the Phillies of tomorrow play alongside the Phillies of today in two intra-squad games. The first game will take place on Thursday, March 31 at 6:05 p.m. at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading. The Phillies will then return to Citizens Bank Park for two games, an exhibition game against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday, April 1 at 6:05 p.m. and the second game of the Phillies Futures Series on Saturday, April 2 at 1:05 p.m.
