Revere collects a rare double
PHILADELPHIA -- Ben Revere achieved a rarity on Saturday afternoon against the Dodgers.
He doubled.
His first-inning double was his 40th hit of the season. Elias Sports Bureau found no player had collected 39 or more hits without a double in a season since 1990, when three players needed at least 39 hits before collecting a double: Houston's Eric Yelding (72 hits before his first double), Milwaukee's Edgar Diaz (47) and Montreal's Tim Raines (45).
