Phillies finalize Opening Day roster

The Phillies have finalized their Opening Day roster for the 2015 regular season.

The club made the following transactions today: Infielder Andres Blanco and outfielder Jeff Francoeur had their contracts selected; outfielder Jordan Danks was optioned to Lehigh Valley (AAA); right-handers Chad Billingsley and Jonathan Pettibone were placed on the 15-day disabled list and left-hander Mario Hollands was placed on the 60-day disabled list.

The Opening Day roster includes 12 pitchers, two catchers, seven infielders and four outfielders.

Pitchers (12): Right-handers David Buchanan, Justin De Fratus, Luis Garcia, Ken Giles, Jeanmar Gomez, Aaron Harang, Dustin McGowan, Jonathan Papelbon and Jerome Williams, and left-handers Jake Diekman, Cole Hamels and Cesar Jimenez.

Catchers (2): Carlos Ruiz and Cameron Rupp.

Infielders (7): Cody Asche, Andres Blanco, Freddy Galvis, Cesar Hernandez, Ryan Howard, Darin Ruf and Chase Utley.

Outfielders (4): Jeff Francoeur, Odubel Herrera, Ben Revere, and Grady Sizemore.

The Phillies are at 40 players on their 40-man roster.
