Adams is in the final year of a two-year, $12 million contract. He has a $6 million club option for 2015 that vests automatically if he throws 60 innings this season. The option jumps to $6.5 million if he throws 120 innings in 2013-14.

Neither will happen. He has thrown just 42 innings over the past two seasons.
