Phillies ink pair of draftees before deadline

PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies had until 5 p.m. ET on Friday to sign their remaining picks from the 2013 First-Year Player Draft.

The club signed high school left-hander Denton Keys, an 11th round pick, as well as high school outfielder Venn Biter, a 30th-round pick, just before the deadline.

Oregon State left-hander Ben Wetzler, a fifth-round pick, and Washington State outfielder Jason Monda, a sixth-round pick, both agreed to sign during the Draft, but have decided to return to school.
