Phillies start Brown on rehab assignment

PHILADELPHIA -- Right fielder Domonic Brown began a rehab assignment Thursday night with Class A Advanced Clearwater, finishing 0-for-2 with two strikeouts.

Brown, 27, has been sidelined since March 19 with tendinitis in his left Achilles tendon. 

Brown hit .235 with 22 doubles, one triple, 10 home runs, 63 RBIs and a .634 on-base plus slugging percentage in 512 plate appearances last season.
