The Phillies have traded outfielder Ben Revere and cash considerations to the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for right-handed pitchers Jimmy Cordero and Alberto Tirado, Senior Vice President & General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr. announced today.

Cordero, 23, has appeared in 32 games this season between single-A Dunedin and double-A New Hampshire, going 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA (15 ER, 50.0 IP). Signed as an amateur free agent in 2012, Cordero is a native of the Dominican Republic.

Tirado, 20, posted a 3.23 ERA (22 ER, 61.1 IP) in 31 relief appearances for Dunedin this season. He has held opposing hitters to a .213 average while averaging 8.95 strikeouts per 9.0 innings pitched (61 SO).

Revere appeared in 459 games for the Phillies from 2012-15, batting .301 with 48 doubles, 22 triples and 135 stolen bases in 165 attempts (81.8%). At the time of the trade Revere was tied for second among all National League players in triples (6) and ranked fourth in stolen bases (24). He has 20 extra-base hits this season (13 2B, 6 3B, 1 HR), only two shy of his career-high 22 set in 2014.

Revere is the only player in Major League Baseball with 20 or more stolen bases in each of the last five seasons (2011-15).

To fill the vacated spot on the 25-man roster, the Phillies have recalled outfielder Jordan Danks from triple-A Lehigh Valley. Danks will wear #15.
