Phillies Wives host Save a Pet at the Park

PHILADELPHIA -- Jen Utley and the Phillies Wives hosted a ballpark-wide effort to adopt and save pets during Saturday's game against the Dodgers.

Phillies Wives Save a Pet at the Park allowed fans a chance to meet and adopt a shelter cat or dog, as well as take part in selection auction, raffle or mystery ball, all to benefit the PSPCA.

"This is the eighth year that we've done this," Utley said. "It's just a really great way to get some adoptable shelter animals out and get people aware of what's happening.

"I hope all these animals that are here get adopted. I hope it raises awareness about adopting an animal rather than buying one, and I hope that it gets more support for our cause out there and people visit and donate, and open their eyes a little."
