The Padres' run of excellent starting pitching in doubleheaders continued Sunday as Michael Kelly and Thomas Dorminy combined to allow one unearned run on four hits over 11 innings as the 21-29 TinCaps swept a doubleheader from West Michigan by scores of 3-0 and 2-1.

Right-hander Kelly (1-0, 6.14 ERA) allowed three hits and a walk with three strikeouts over five innings in the seven-inning opener. Righty reliever T.J. Weir (5.57 ERA) completed the shutout, allowing a hit and a walk with three strikeouts in two scoreless innings to get his first save.

The left-handed Dorminy (5-3, 4.27 ERA) allowed an unearned run on one hit and five walks with three strikeouts over six innings. Righty Colby Blueberg (1.69 ERA) struck out two in a perfect inning to get his third save.

Eighteen-year-old shortstop Ruddy Giron paced the hitters, going 2-for-6 with his fourth homer and two RBIs.

Left fielder Nick Torres (.310) was 2-for-5 with a walk and a run in the two games. First baseman Trae Santos (.238) was 2-for-3 with two walks and a run. Right fielder Franmil Reyes (.238) was 2-for-5 with a RBI.

Third baseman Nick Vitter was 2-for-2 in the first game, while catcher Jose Ruiz (.198) had a double in three at-bats.

Triple-A El Paso (25-25): Iowa 8, El Paso 4. The Chihuahuas set a franchise record with a 10th straight sellout. LHP Robbie Erlin (5.60 ERA) gave up three runs on nine hits and three walks with three strikeouts in six-plus innings. RHP Nick Vincent (2-3, 4.00 ERA) allowed two runs on two hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning to take the loss. RHP Leonel Campos (3.75 ERA) allowed three runs on two hits and two walks in one-third of an inning. CF Rico Noel (.273) was 2-for-4 with two runs. Rehabbing Padres 1B Yonder Alonso (.200) was 2-for-4 with a double and a RBI.

Double-A San Antonio (20-29): Northwest Arkansas 3, Missions 1. RHP Ryan Butler (0-3, 4.76 ERA) allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts in five innings. RHP Aaron Northcraft (3.63 ERA) pitched three scoreless innings with one strikeout. SS Trea Turner (.333) was 0-for-4, ending both his 16-game hitting streak and 29-game streak of reaching base. RF Yeison Asencio (.262) was 2-for-4 and scored the Missions' lone run. 3B Duanel Jones (.308) was 1-for-4 with a double and a RBI.

Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore (23-26): Storm 6, Stockton 2. RHP Ronald Herrera (3-5, 4.12 ERA) allowed one run on four hits and three walks with five strikeouts over six innings to get the win. C Ryan Miller (.323) was 1-for-4 with his first home run and three RBIs. CF Nick Schulz (.214) was 2-for-4 with his second homer and two runs .

Domincan Summer League Padres (1-0): The Dominican Summer League doesn't play on Sundays.
