Bucs prospect Glasnow fans 11 in Class A win

Right-hander Tyler Glasnow, the Pirates' No. 2 prospect, threw six scoreless innings and struck out 11 batters Tuesday, as Class A Advanced Bradenton defeated Dunedin, 1-0.

Glasnow, ranked No. 22 on MLBPipeline.com's Top 100 Prospects list, held Dunedin to four hits and two walks on 96 pitches. His 11 strikeouts were his second-highest total of the season, trailing only his 12-strikeout game May 28 at Tampa.

The Marauders scored the lone run of the game in the first inning. Adam Frazier hit a leadoff single and scored on Jordan Steranka's two-out base hit.

While it wasn't much, it was all the run support Glasnow needed to pick up his third consecutive victory and improve to 7-4. In 16 starts this season, he has a 1.64 ERA and has struck out 97 batters and walked 41 in 82 1/3 innings. He leads the Florida State League in ERA and, despite missing the first three weeks of the season due to a back injury, ranks fourth in strikeouts.
