Pirates to open '15 where they close '14

Club faces Reds on Opening Day; Tigers come to PNC Park for home opener

PHILADELPHIA -- The Pirates are starting their 2015 season the same place they're ending their 2014 regular season.

The 2015 Major League regular-season schedule was released Monday, and Pittsburgh will open its campaign with a three-game set in Cincinnati, the first game set for Monday, April 6. After a trip to Milwaukee, the Pirates will have their home opener a week later, as the Tigers visit PNC Park on April 13.

The series against Detroit is the start of a 10-game homestand, the only one the Pirates have in April. The Bucs also go into the All-Star break with a 10-game homestand, highlighted by a July 4 tilt with the Indians.

The Pirates are also guaranteed October baseball in 2015. They end their regular season slate with six divisional home games, three against the Cardinals on Sept. 28-30 and a trio with the Reds on Oct. 2-4.
