Plenty on tap for Giants' first homestand

LOS ANGELES -- Giveaways and special events will fill the Giants' opening homestand, which encompasses a trio of three-game series against Arizona, Colorado and Los Angeles.

The first 40,000 fans through the gates Tuesday will receive Opening Day calendars. Starting time that afternoon is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. PT, with pregame festivities set to begin at 12:45 p.m.

That's followed by Hunter Pence bobblehead night Wednesday and a "Farewell to the 'Stick" observance Thursday, featuring appearances by various Giants and 49ers -- including Roger Craig, the former manager, and Roger Craig, the ex-running back. Fans purchasing tickets to different special events will receive Candlestick Park replicas or long-sleeved Croix de Candlestick T-shirts. The first 20,000 fans will receive a Farewell to the 'Stick scarf.

Promotions next weekend include Fireworks Night on Friday and a sports bag giveaway Saturday.

The start of the Dodgers series coincides with Jackie Robinson Day, April 15. A portion of proceeds from each special-event ticket sold will benefit the Jackie Robinson Foundation. The next night, the first 20,000 fans will receive 2014 Giants magnet schedules.
