Prince, Beltre need All-Star ballot bump

ARLINGTON -- Rangers slugger Prince Fielder is running third at first base and Adrian Beltre is fourth among third basemen in the latest American League 2015 Esurance All-Star Game Ballot voting update.

Fielder entered Monday leading the league with a .356 batting average but trails the Royals' Eric Hosmer and the Tigers' Miguel Cabrera at first base. Hosmer has 3,551,005 votes while Cabrera has 2,933,108 and Fielder has 1,088,428.

Beltre is also trailing another Royal. Mike Moustakas leads third basemen with 4,046,726 votes while Beltre is fourth with 619,494 votes. He is on the disabled list with a sprained right thumb.

The Royals lead in seven of nine positions. Fielder and Beltre are the only two Rangers in the top five at their positions. Fielder has played in five All-Star games with the Brewers and Tigers while Beltre has played in four.

Fans can cast their votes for starters at MLB.com and all 30 club sites -- on their computers, tablets and smartphones -- using the 2015 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday, July 2, at 10:59 p.m. CT. For the first time, voting is exclusively online, where fans may submit up to 35 ballots.
