Profar doubts he'll play this season

ARLINGTON -- Rangers infielder Jurickson Profar, who is on the disabled list with a torn muscle in his right shoulder, admitted that it's unlikely that he'll play this season.

"I don't think so," Profar said Tuesday in the Rangers' clubhouse.

Profar started the season on the disabled list with the torn muscle and was originally expected to be out 10-12 weeks. But he re-injured the shoulder a couple of weeks ago and was shut down for 10-12 more weeks. Now he is doing nothing but resting it with no baseball activities.

"It's a little bit [frustrating], but a lot of things will get me strong again," Profar said. "I was hoping to be out there helping the team, but at the same time you don't want to play hurt. You don't want to get worse."
