Top prospects lead Giants' list of non-roster invitees

SAN FRANCISCO -- Nine of the Giants' prospects ranked among MLB.com's top 20 were on the list of non-roster invitees to Spring Training the club released Monday.

Six of the top 20 representatives are pitchers, including right-handers Kyle Crick (No. 1), Clayton Blackburn (seventh) and Chris Stratton (eighth) and left-handers Adalberto Mejia (fourth), Ty Blach (sixth) and Steven Okert (10th).

Other leading prospects among the 22 invitees include catcher Aramis Garcia (ninth), infielder Christian Arroyo (12th) and outfielder Mac Williamson (15th). This promises to be the longest look that the Giants' Major League staff will have of Arroyo, the organization's No. 1 selection (25th overall) in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft.

Invitees who have experience with the Giants include right-hander Juan Gutierrez, infielder Brandon Hicks, catcher Guillermo Quiroz and right-hander Brett Bochy. Gutierrez finished 1-2 with a 3.96 ERA in 61 appearances for San Francisco last year, Hicks served most of the season's first half as the club's regular second baseman, Quiroz spent parts of the previous two seasons with San Francisco and Bochy, manager Bruce Bochy's son, made three late-season relief appearances, including his Major League debut against the Dodgers on Sept. 13.
