Ramirez on track to return on Wednesday

MILWAUKEE -- Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez went 2-for-4 as the Class A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers' designated hitter on Monday and, assuming no setbacks, should be activated from the disabled list for Wednesday's game in Minnesota.

Ramirez has been on the DL since mid-May with a left hamstring strain. Because the Brewers play Wednesday and Thursday in an American League ballpark, Ramirez could be the DH in one or both of those games.

"We'll talk about that," manager Ron Roenicke said. "We're thinking DH, but we'll talk about it when he gets back. We'll see where he is. That's what we'd like to do, DH him the first game and then we'll see."

With the Brewers' offense riding a hot streak, Roenicke and Ramirez have already discussed the possibility that Ramirez will slide back into the lineup lower than his usual cleanup spot.
