Rangers bringing back TV, radio broadcast teams

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers are bringing back all their television and radio broadcasters for 2014. The only change is television analyst Tom Grieve will have a slightly reduced workload, with Mark McLemore filling in for him on occasion.

Steve Busby returns for his second full season as the television play-by-play announcer, while Grieve returns for his 20th season. Grieve will take approximately 25 games off at various points during the season.

"For the past few years, I've considered taking some games off to spend additional time with my family during the summer," said Grieve, who has the longest tenure of any television broadcaster in club history. "This will allow me to do some things that I haven't had the opportunity to previously do."

McLemore has been a regular on the Rangers' pregame and postgame shows over the past few years, and he has also filled in during games. McLemore was Texas' starting second baseman in 1995-99 and played on three division title teams.

Eric Nadel remains as the lead voice on the Rangers' radio network, with Matt Hicks returning as the No. 2 broadcaster. Nadel is one of the finalists for 2014 Ford C. Frick Award for broadcasting excellence. The winner will be announced next week at the Winter Meetings and then presented with the award during Hall of Fame weekend in Cooperstown, N.Y.

The Rangers also announced that Emily Jones has been hired to fill an expanded role in the club's television programming. She will also continue her work on texasrangers.com.
