Rangers claim reliever Rearick off waivers

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers have acquired reliever Chris Rearick on a waiver claim from the Padres, and the left-hander has been assigned to Triple-A Round Rock.

Rearick pitched in five games for the Padres this season. In three innings, he allowed four runs on six hits, including two home runs. He walked two and struck out four.

Rearick pitched in 37 games for Triple-A El Paso, and he was 0-3 with a 5.23 ERA. In 43 innings, he walked 30 and struck out 28.
