Hamilton ends postseason hitless skid
Rangers outfielder breaks 0-for-31 drought with single in fifth
ARLINGTON -- The skid is over. Josh Hamilton finally has hit first postseason hit in four years.
Hamilton has two of them actually. He had two singles in his last two at-bats in the Rangers' 5-1 loss to the Blue Jays in Game 3 of the best-of-five American League Division Series on Sunday night.

"I would gladly go 0-for to get a win," Hamilton said. "But baseball is baseball. I didn't get a hit in two important games in Toronto and we won. But it was good to come back here and get a couple."
Hamilton's first hit was a fifth-inning single that snapped an 0-for-31 skid at the plate in the postseason. His last postseason hit before that was a first-inning double in Game 7 of the 2011 World Series. Hamilton was 0-for-10 in Toronto before going 2-for-3 on Sunday night.
"I saw the ball good in Toronto, but that probably hurt me because I was trying to do too much," Hamilton said. "Tonight I let the ball travel to me, and I put some good swings on it."
He will try again in Game 4 against Blue Jays knuckleballer R.A. Dickey (Monday, 4 p.m., FOX Sports 1/Sportsnet). He is 4-for-8 with two walks in his career against Dickey.
"I enjoy the challenge," Hamilton said. "It makes you take the approach of not trying too much and not try to hit the ball out. Just try to barrel the baseball. If you do that, you'll be OK."
