Harrison set to make third rehab assignment

ARLINGTON -- Matt Harrison, on the disabled list while recovering from last year's back surgery, will make his third rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco on Saturday night and will take a simple approach to the outing.

"One pitch a time," Harrison said. "I'm not worried about innings or pitch counts. I just want to focus on one pitch at a time. I've been getting caught up with that other stuff and it hasn't been doing me any good."

Harrison's first rehab start was rained out after two innings. He has pitched eight innings over his other two starts and allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits, three walks and five strikeouts. There has been much talk about Harrison needing to get his pitch count up, but the Rangers also want to see results. So does Harrison.

"I want to pitch like I know how to pitch," Harrison said. "Pitch like I'm pitching [in the big leagues]. I'm not worried if I get 95 pitches in six innings. I'm not thinking about that stuff. When they think I'm ready, that's when I'll be back here. It doesn't matter what I think."
