Texas pitchers, catchers set to report Feb. 18

ARLINGTON -- Rangers pitchers and catchers will report to Spring Training in Surprise, Ariz., on Feb. 18, the club announced on Friday.

Pitchers and catchers will have their first workout on Feb. 19. The first full-squad workout will be Feb. 24, with the first Cactus League game scheduled for March 2 against the Royals at Surprise Stadium.

This will be the 14th spring that the Rangers and Royals have shared the 132-acre complex and 10,174-seat stadium on the northwest edge of the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. The Rangers were in Pompano Beach, Fla., from 1972-86 and Port Charlotte, Fla., from 1997-82.
