Texas parts ways with righty reliever Fujikawa

The Rangers have released right-handed reliever Kyuji Fujikawa.

Fujikawa, 34, was designated for assignment on Sunday after allowing three earned runs in 1 2/3 innings over two relief appearances. He began the season on the disabled list with a right groin strain.

Fujikawa came to the Majors in 2013, signing with the Cubs, but has appeared in only 29 games after missing parts of the 2013-14 seasons rehabbing from Tommy John surgery.

Texas' 40-man roster remains at 39.
