Rays' 2015 slate unveiled; opener at home vs. O's

ST. PETERSBURG -- The Rays will open the 2015 season at home. Major League Baseball released next season's schedule on Monday afternoon, so Tampa Bay fans can mark the date on their calendars: Monday, April 6 at 3:10 p.m. ET, Rays vs. Orioles at Tropicana Field.

The schedule is subject to change. While all game times will be released at a later date, Sunday games will change from 1:40 p.m. to 1:10 p.m.

The schedule includes weekend series with the Yankees (April 17-19) and Mets (Aug. 7-9) and two with the Red Sox (June 26-28 and Sept. 11-13).

For the third consecutive season, Tampa Bay will play 20 Interleague games. In 2015, the Rays will face the National League East including home-and-home series with the Marlins, Braves and Nationals. In addition to hosting a series with the Mets, Tampa Bay will play a three-game series at Philadelphia.

The schedule includes 76 games versus the American League East, 34 against the AL West and 32 versus the AL Central. The breakdown includes 19 games each against the Yanks (10 home, nine away), O's (10 home, nine away), Red Sox (nine home, 10 away) and Blue Jays (nine home, 10 away). The Rays will also play seven games against the Indians, Royals, Astros, Rangers, A's and Mariners.

The Rays will have six games apiece with the Tigers, Twins, White Sox and Angels.

The Rays close out the 2015 regular season with a six-game homestand against the Marlins and Blue Jays (Sept. 29-Oct. 4). It will be the first time Tampa Bay has played an Interleague game in September.

This will be the sixth consecutive season that the Rays will open the season at home. It will also be the seventh time that Tampa Bay has faced Baltimore in its season opener.
