Moore completes historic April

KANSAS CITY -- Since records were first available (1916), Matt Moore is the sixth Major League pitcher under the age of 24 to go 5-0 or better through the end of April. Of this group, only Fernando Valenzuela (1981) posted a better ERA.

In addition to Valenzuela, Babe Ruth, Greg Swindell (1988), Dwight Gooden (1988) and Dontrelle Willis (2005) all got off to 5-0 starts.

Entering Wednesday, Moore is tied for the Major League lead in wins, winning percentage, and his 1.13 ERA leads the American League and is the second-best behind Jake Westbrook (0.98) of the Cardinals.
