Rays option Yates, DFA Belisario

Pitchers Riefenhauser, Guilmet recalled from Triple-A

ST. PETERSBURG -- Following Tuesday night's 6-2 loss to the Indians, the Rays optioned right-hander Kirby Yates to Triple-A Durham and designated right-hander Ronald Belisario for assignment.

The Rays also recalled left-hander C.J. Riefenhauser and right-hander Preston Guilmet from Triple-A. Riefenhauser is 1-0 with a 7.94 ERA in five appearances for the Rays this season and Guilmet is 0-0 with a 6.75 ERA in two appearances.

Yates surrendered a two-run homer to David Murphy in the eighth inning on Tuesday. He pitched two-thirds of an inning and allowed two runs on two hits and a walk. Yates is 0-0 with a 6.14 ERA in eight appearances this season.

Belisario also pitched Tuesday night, allowing no runs on no hits while striking out two in 1 1/3 innings.

Belisario is 0-0 with a 7.88 ERA in six appearances this season.
