Victorino scratched vs. Orioles with sore ribs

BOSTON -- Red Sox right fielder Shane Victorino was scratched from the lineup about an hour before Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Orioles due to sore ribs.

Red Sox manager John Farrell confirmed the injury stemmed from Victorino leaping against the wall in right field trying to take a homer away from Caleb Joseph in Friday's 3-2 win at Fenway Park.

Farrell said they'll re-evaluate Victorino on Sunday morning to see if he can play in the third game of the series at 1:35 p.m. ET.

Daniel Nava, who replaced Victorino in right, went 0-for-3 with a strikeout.

Farrell had Nava pinch-hit for Victorino in the sixth inning of Friday's series opener, but that was for matchup reasons and not an injury.
