Sox to celebrate honorary bat girl May 21

Massachusetts mother of three living with metastatic breast cancer

TORONTO -- The Red Sox will celebrate honorary bat girl Heather Morse on May 21 before their game against the Rangers at Fenway Park.

Morse, of Shirley, Mass., has battled cancer several times and is living with metastatic breast cancer.

Morse and her husband, Tom, are avid motorcycle riders, and every year raise money on a bike run to fund participation in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day, which is a three-day, 60-mile walk.

A mother of three boys, Morse has herself raised more than $20,000 toward finding a cure for cancer.

Jamie Ross is an associate reporter for MLB.com.
