Red Sox to offer free cholesterol screenings today as part of "Make Your Move Across America" campaign

"Cholesterol Awareness Night" is Presented by AstraZeneca

As part of the "Make Your Move Across America" campaign and "Cholesterol Awareness Night," presented by AstraZeneca, the Red Sox will offer free lipid screenings and cholesterol education to fans 18 and older attending the Red Sox-Orioles game today, Wednesday, June 24. The screenings will take place at the Yawkey Way entrance from 5 p.m. through the third inning.

Adult fans attending the game will receive educational materials, including an infographic on lipid education, a patient brochure, as well as a "Moments That Move You" application, which helps patients with high cholesterol begin their journey towards better cholesterol management.

High cholesterol is a risk factor for developing heart disease. More than 71 million American adults (34%) have high LDL-C (bad cholesterol). Of this group, only one out of three has LDL-C level under control. Because there are no signs or symptoms of high cholesterol, adults must be diagnosed through a simple lipid profile blood tests.

The "Make Your Move Across America" educational initiative is a first of its kind for AstraZeneca, demonstrating the company's commitment to patients within the cardiovascular therapeutic area. For more information, please visit www.makeyourmoveacrossamerica.com.
