Reds Minor Leaguer Ramirez suspended 50 games
Third baseman tested positive for metabolites of performance-enhancing drug
Reds Minor League third baseman Robert Ramirez has been suspended 50 games for violating the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
Ramirez, 21, tested positive for metabolites of Nandrolone, a performance-enhancing substance. His suspension begins at the start of the 2014 season.
Ramirez hit a combined .207 in 82 games between Rookie-level Billings and Class A Dayton this season.
