Roberto alomar to host two home run challenges across Ontario in support of Jays Care Foundation

On May 7 & June 23, Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar will be hosting Roberto Alomar & Friends Charity Home Run Challenges in Toronto and London, ON, in support of JAYS CARE FOUNDATION. Participating individuals will fundraise before the events, with the goal of reaching a goal of $170,000 to support Jays Care Foundation's programs and initiatives throughout Canada.

Proceeds from the 2015 Roberto Alomar & Friends Charity Home Run Challenge series will support local projects impacting children and youth in underserved communities.

"I look forward to hosting these events for Jays Care each season," says Blue Jays Alumni and Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar, "It's a great opportunity for me and my Blue Jays teammates to get back on the field with our fans and hit some home runs. Supporting Jays Care is very important to us and this is some of the most fun someone can have while giving back to communities across Canada."

Participants will receive their own personalized uniform, including a Blue Jays jersey and full equipment, and participate in alumni-led hitting drills to prepare for their turn at bat. The special guest instructors will include Toronto Blue Jays alumni ROBERTO ALOMAR, CITO GASTON, JESSE BARFIELD, LLOYD MOSEBY, DEVON WHITE and DUANE WARD along with other special guest instructors who will attend to provide pointers and cheer the participants on.

"The Roberto Alomar & Friends Charity Home Run Challenge series has become one of our most anticipated annual events" says Robert Witchel, Executive Director of Jays Care Foundation. "Roberto and a fantastic group of Blue Jays alumni have come together to create this unique experience for fans and we are grateful for their efforts which will allow us to leverage the game of baseball to deliver great outcomes for children and youth across Canada."
