Robinson starting to make home in left field

PITTSBURGH -- For the third straight game, Derrick Robinson started in left field for the Reds. Robinson has been able to successfully play through some soreness in his left groin.

"I just aggravated something. It was nothing serious," Robinson said before Saturday's contest against the Pirates. "It wasn't a strain or nothing. But it's a lot better now."

Robinson, who was 3-for-7 with two RBIs in the previous two games, entered Saturday night batting .333 (14-for-42) in 33 games. A non-roster player at Spring Training, Robinson was called up for the second game of the season when Ryan Ludwick went on the disabled list. After fellow left fielder Chris Heisey also went on the DL on April 29, Robinson's opportunities increased.

"I'm just trying to take advantage of it and do what I can to help the team win," Robinson said.
