Rockies trade RHP Huston Street and cash considerations to San Diego for player to be named later

The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club has traded right-handed pitcher Huston Street and cash considerations to San Diego for a player to be named later and cash considerations.

Street, 28, went 1-4 with 29 saves in 33 opportunities, a 3.86 ERA (58.1 ip, 25 er), 9 walks and 55 strikeouts in 62 games for the Rockies in 2011. Street is a veteran of seven Major League seasons with Colorado (2009-11) and Oakland (2005-08), and has spent nearly his entire career working as a closer. Street has a career record of 30-21 with a 3.11 ERA (436.1 ip, 151 er) in 417 games, all in relief. The right-hander has 178 saves in 216 career save opportunities. Street has saved at least 16 games in all seven of his Major League seasons.

The Rockies now have 38 players on the 40-man roster.
