ROOT SPORTS and 710 ESPN to provide thorough coverage of Mariners 2013 Spring Training

Six games on the TV schedule and 30 games on the radio schedule

ROOT SPORTS and 710 ESPN Seattle will provide complete coverage of the Seattle Mariners 2013 Spring Training camp in Peoria, Arizona, including Cactus League games as well as other special programming. In addition, 30 of the team's 35 Cactus League games will be carried by radio partner 710 ESPN.

ROOT SPORTS will televise six Cactus League games and will air "Mariners All-Access" nightly Monday through Friday, from March 4-29. The first scheduled TV game is Monday, March 4, when the Mariners take on the Colorado Rockies at 12:05pm PST. Other televised games include:

  • Sunday, March 17 vs. Texas Rangers (1:05pm PDT)
  • Tuesday, March 19 vs. San Francisco Giants (7:05pm PDT)
  • Thursday, March 21 vs. Chicago Cubs (7:05pm PDT)
  • Saturday, March 23 vs. Cleveland Indians (1:05pm PDT)
  • Saturday, March 30 vs. Colorado Rockies @ Salt Lake City, Utah (12:05pm PDT)

In addition, 30 of the Mariners 35 Spring Training games will be carried on 710 ESPN, the Mariners flagship radio station. Of the 30 game broadcasts, 22 will be carried live on 710 ESPN as well as on mariners.com. Eight midweek day games scheduled during the first two weeks of Spring Training will be aired on a delayed basis by the station at 7pm PT, and will be available live at no charge on mariners.com. The first radio broadcast will be the spring opener on Friday, February 22, when the Mariners face the San Diego Padres in Peoria, at 12 pm PST. 710 ESPN will also air the "Cactus League Report" every Monday at 7 pm PT, beginning February 25 through March 25.

Seattle pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training on February 12 (physicals) and hold their first workout February 13. Position players are scheduled to report February 15, with the first full-squad workout on February 16.

The Mariners open the 2013 regular season Monday, April 1, at Oakland against the Athletics. The 2013 home opener will be Monday, April 8 vs. the Houston Astros at Safeco Field (7:10 pm).
