Royals announce a flurry of roster moves Wednesday

The Kansas City Royals announced several roster moves prior to today's Spring Training game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Royals have optioned pitcher Aaron Brooks, infielder Orlando Calixte and outfielders Lane Adams and Jorge Bonifacio to Triple-A Omaha. The club also reassigned eight players - pitchers Buddy Baumann, Brian Broderick, Casey Coleman and Joe Paterson, infielders Hunter Dozier, Matt Fields and Raul Mondesi and outfielder Bubba Starling - to minor league camp.

Following today's roster moves, the Royals have 46 active players in Major League Spring Training, which includes 35 players from the 40-man roster and 11 non-roster invitees.
